Edison Driver Charged with Leaving Disabled Woman in Van Overnight

Authorities in Middlesex County announced that a 53-year-old woman has been charged with Endangering Another Person and Neglect of a Disabled Person.Ad Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said an investigation by Detective Daniela Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Christian Paone of the Edison Police Department revealed that on January 2, 2024, Winnie Raini, 53, of Edison, who was employed as a private transportation driver, left an adult female victim with a developmental disability in a van overnight.

According to officials, Raini is currently suspended from her employment at Inspiring NJ Transportation LLC.

Raini was charged with second-degree Endangering Another Person and third-degree Neglect of a Disabled Person, officials stated. 

Officials said Raini will be lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a first appearance hearing in Superior Court.

The investigation is active and continuing, authorities say.
