Eatontown Bank Robbery Prompts Lockdown at Schools

The Eatontown Memorial and the Vetter schools were placed on lockdown this morning as a precaution following a bank robbery in the area.

According to acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni, police responded to the TD Bank on Wyckoff Road and Route 36 at approximately 9:22 a.m. for a reported bank robbery.

An armed man entered the bank and robbed it at gunpoint getting away with an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

The suspect was described as a black male last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans and armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The suspect was last seen fleeing toward Laurel Gardens Apartments on Laurel Place.
