Area police were placed on notice to be on the lookout for a vehicle wanted for a shooting that occurred in East Orange on Sunday evening.
Several rounds of gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 4th Avenue and 18th Street before 7 p.m. sending police to the scene where officers located shells casings on the ground in the area.
According to reports, a dark colored vehicle, possibly an Audi with NY license plates, pulled up in the area then opened fired at an unknown target shortly before police arrived at the scene.
The vehicle then sped away from the scene towards the Newark border.
There were no severe injuries immediately reported.
