EMS transported one person to the hospital suffering injuries after gunfire erupted in East Orange this evening.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 40's block of Oak Street shortly before 9 p.m. where arriving officers found the victim struck to the head at that location reports said.
According to authorities, the victim's injury has not resulted in a fatality as of 9:30 p.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
