Authorities in East Orange have launched an investigation into an overnight shooting that injured a man in the city.
The shooting happened in the 400 block of Prospect Street at around 8:30 p.m. when officers respond to reports of shots fired.
Units arrived to find a male victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the leg according to authorities.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark and was expected to make a full recovery.
A black male who was last seen wearing a grey jacket and capris fled the area on foot according to reports.
There were no other injuries reported.
