Early Morning Shootings in Paterson and Elizabeth has Authorities Investigating

Authorities in Paterson and Elizabeth are investigating two violent early morning shootings that left one person in each city seriously injured. 

First, reports of shots fired in the 500 block of Clarkson Street in Elizabeth around 4 a.m., sent police to the scene where they found a male victim  reportedly shot multiple times at that location. The man was taken to University Hospital in Newark where his condition is not available at this time. Police conducted  a crime scene in the area searching for evidence and a possible suspect. 

Over in Paterson, an extensive search of the 10's block Grime Street possibly yielded a firearm and a suspect involved in a shooting that occured shortly before 5:30 a.m. Police rushed to the scene after reports of shots fired where they found one person shot and seriously injured at that location. Police units blanketed the area, collecting evidence. The suspect was taken into custody for questioning. 

Both shootings are under investigation.
