Police are looking for a suspect responsible for a shooting in Newark’s West Ward around 3 a.m.
It happened in the 80’s block of Columbia Avenue in the city’s Vailsburg section.
Police said officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area and when they arrived, multiple shell casings were on the ground, but no victims were located.
Shortly after the shooting, police said a male victim entered Univerity Hospital suffering a bullet wound.
Police believe that the victim suffered his injuries on Columbia Avenue but still launched an investigation into the motive for the shooting.
There were no other injuries reported.
