EMS transported one person to University Hospital after gunfire erupted in a Central Ward community early this morning.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the teens block of Belgium Street shortly before 7 a.m. where arriving officers found one person shot at that location.
The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
Police setup a crime scene where they searched for evidence and possible suspects responsible for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
In another incident, a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg entered University Hospital's emergency room shortly before 10 p.m.
The victim reported to authorities that the shooting occurred in the area of 14th Avenue and South 14th Street.
Police are looking into the incident possibly being a self inflicted gunshot injury.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
