There were severe injuries reported for at least one victim of a car crash that occurred on a highway in Bridgewater on Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at approximately 1:10 a.m. near the vicinity of 1921 Route 22 where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of an accident with injuries reported.
Firefighters and rescue crews arrived at the scene to find a severely damaged vehicle that struck a pole with an occupant heavily trapped inside.
Crews began the process of extricating the victim who reports said was stuck under a collapsed dashboard.
Firefighters ultimately extricated the victim then handed them over to EMS for the transport to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick according to reports.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
