The condition of a man that was shot in Paterson overnight is unknown as police search for the suspect/s responsible.
Reports of shots fired rang out in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Auburn Street at around 4 a.m. placing arriving officers on the scene where they located a male victim injured by apparent gunfire according to initial reports.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital while detectives from the police department's Cease Fire Squad canvassed the scene searching for evidence reports said.
Several shell casings were located but there were no immediate reports of arrests.
