Early Morning Newark Upper West Ward Shooting Leaves Victim Injured

Police officials are attempting to find the motive for a shooting that left one person injured in Newark's upper West Ward early Monday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police were dispatched to the vicinity of Cameron Road and Eastern Parkway at approximately 3 a.m. to investigate reports of shots fired.

Units arrived at the scene located a car penetrated by multiple bullets then officers taped off the area to conduct the investigation.

While searching the area, police -later- notified EMS to respond on a rush after they found an unconscious victim suffering gunshot wounds. It appears that the victim was found at another location.

According to reports, the victim was rushed to University Hospital in an unknown/unconfirmed condition.
