Police in Newark are investigating an early morning shooting that left one person injured in the city.
There were non-life threatening injuries reported after gunfire rang out in the 600 block of South 20th Street at around 3:30 Saturday morning.
Police and EMS responded to the scene where they located the male victim struck in the leg by gunfire according to reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he was expected to survive.
A two-door burgundy colored vehicle was observed leaving the scene occupied by two light complexion males.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
