An early morning armed robbery that occurred in Newark's North Ward left a man seriously injured after.
According to authorities, the accident happened before 8 a.m. on Summer Avenue near Delavan Avenue when a 44-year-old man was approached by one or more armed assailants who attempted to take personal possession before opening fire on the man.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in serious condition authorities said.
Police have not made an arrest in the shooting at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
