A mass casualty shooting unfolded in Jersey City, leaving four individuals injured in the early hours of the morning Sunday.

The violent incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. when the police responded to reports of gunshots near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Orient Avenue.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered one person suffering from gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, Jersey City Medical Center alerted the Jersey City Police Department that four additional victims with gunshot injuries had arrived at the emergency room.

They had been dropped off by a private vehicle.

Preliminary reports suggest that a white vehicle pulled up in the area, and a gunman began firing repeatedly from the sunroof.

Following the barrage of shots, the vehicle swiftly fled the scene, and the suspects remain at large.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has been notified, although, at this time, no fatalities have been reported.

Jersey City authorities are actively investigating this shocking incident as they seek to bring those responsible to justice.
