Monmouth County authorities are looking into a shooting that sent a male to the hospital on Saturday morning.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the single digit block of Avenue A at approximately 2:20 a.m. where first arriving police units arrived at the scene and found a bleeding male suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment and remains hospitalized according to police.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no arrests made.
