Early Morning Fire Rips Through House in Orange

Firefighters from several municipalities battled an early morning fire that destroyed a house in the city on Thursday morning.

According to preliminary reports, heavy fire tore through the second level of a two and a three-story house located at 691 Scotland Road just before 4:20 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they observed heavy fire pouring through the windows of the wood-framed home.

Firefighters moved swiftly at the scene as they received reports of trapped and injured occupants inside the fully involved home.

At least two people received treatment for injuries, but their conditions could not immediately be confirmed. Additional EMS were requested to the scene as a standby at 5:20 a.m.

As of 5:40 a.m, firefighters were still battling pockets of fire that remained inside the structure.

The cause remains under investigation
