Early Morning Fire Displaces Three Jersey City Families

Firefighters in Jersey City battled cold temperatures this morning as a fire broke out at a 2 1/2 story home.

Crews responded to a structure near West Side Avenue just after 6 a.m. for a fast moving fire.

A total of three families comprised of nine people - six adults and three children - were displaced by the fire.

The fire which remains under investigation, reportedly started in the basement of the home, according to residents.

According to officials, one person suffered unspecified injuries.
