Early Morning Fire Destroys House in Paterson

Paterson

Paterson Fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a house in the city early Thursday morning.

Officials say the fire broke out in a three-story wood-framed house located at 33 12th Avenue around 2:35 a.m.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found flames ripping through the roof of the house with fire extending to a neighboring home.

According to officials, firefighters were able to make entry into the home where no injured or trapped occupants were found.

Fast operating firefighters brought the fire under control in under an hour but not before the blaze forced a second alarm for manpower.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Paterson Fire Department.
