Off-Duty State Troopers Rescue Woman from Burning Mt. Olive Home

Mount Olive New Jersey

Two off-duty state troopers on their way home after their shift last night rescued a woman from a burning home, the State Police said today.

After finishing their shirt at the Netcong Station, Troopers Adam Gonzalez and Justin Storie were heading home when they noticed smoke coming from a home on Route 206 in Mount Olive.

They quickly pulled over and without hesitation entered home announcing their presence.

Shortly after, Josephine Maulback, 51, answered back asking for help. Troopers located Maulback and removed her from the home, which shortly after became fully engulfed.

Maulback was transported to Hackensack Hospital in stable condition.

The troopers were taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation and minor cuts and bruises.

The fire is under investigation by Mount Olive police.
