Drug Distribution Investigation Leads to Arrest of Manville Man

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Manville Borough Chief of Police Mark A. Peltack announced the arrest of Arthur N. Green, 60, of Manville.

​Prosecutor Robertson stated that as a result of a 3 week investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine by defendant Arthur Green, a Somerset County Superior Court issued search warrant was granted for defendant Green and his residence.

According to authorities, on July 26th, at approximately 8 p.m. members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, along with members of the Manville Police Department established surveillance in the area of defendant Green’s residence and observed defendant Green on his bicycle.  

Officials say Green was approached and found to be in possession of thirty five bags of heroin, one bag of crack cocaine, one bag of marijuana, five assorted prescription pills and narcotic paraphernalia.   

The estimated street value of the narcotics seized by Task Force members was approximately $400.00.  Task Force Members then executed the search warrant on Green’s residence seizing additional evidence, specifically drug paraphernalia.

Authorities arrested and charged Green with 3rd degree Distribution of Heroin, 3rd degree Possession of CDS, 3rd degree Possession of CDS, Disorderly Person offense of Possession of CDS, and Disorderly Persons offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was subsequently lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
