Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Newark's South Ward on Wednesday morning.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted authorities to a shooting that occurred in the vicinity of Mitchell Place and Ross Street around 1 a.m.
Officers arrived and found a male suffering a non-life-threatening bullet wound in his arm, according to police. The unidentified victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and expected to make a full recovery.
According to the victim, the suspect pulled up in a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee and fired shots from the rear passenger window.
The suspect sped from the scene and remains at-large.
