Authorities in Linden are investigating a series of vehicle vandalism incidents that left more than two dozen cars damaged during the early morning hours Monday.
According to preliminary information released by police, the first reports came in around 4:00 a.m. on April 7, 2026, when officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of South Wood Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that at least 19 vehicles had been vandalized at that location.
As the investigation expanded, officers learned that similar incidents had also been reported in other parts of the city and in nearby communities, suggesting a wider pattern of activity.
Detectives believe the damage was carried out by a single suspect between approximately 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
The individual is described as a light-skinned or white male who was seen operating a dark gray Nissan Rogue.
The vehicle reportedly had no visible license plate, tinted rear windows, chrome trim, and roof racks.
The investigation is being led by the Linden Police Detective Bureau, working alongside law enforcement agencies in Union and Middlesex counties.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Nicole Andrews at (908) 474-8662
