Dover Man Gets 12 Years in Prison for Sex Assault of Minor

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, and Chief Anthony Smith of the Dover Township Police Department announce that Pedro Izquierdo-Herrera, 46, of Dover, was sentenced today by the Honorable David H. Ironson, J.S.C. to twelve (12) years in New Jersey State Prison.

Officials say Mr. Izquierdo-Herrera will also be subject to registration pursuant to Megan’s Law and Parole Supervision for Life.

According to Morris County officials, Izquierdo-Herrera previously pled guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2A(2)(A), admitting to engaging in sexual intercourse with a child between the age of 13 and 16.

Defendant is also subject to the No Early Release Act (NERA) and must serve at least 85% of his 12 year sentence in New Jersey State Prison before being eligible for parole.

Mr. Izquierdo-Herrera was ordered to pay mandatory fines and penalties and is to have no contact with the victim.

Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and the Dover Township Police Department, whose efforts contributed to the investigation and resolution of the matter.
