A violent overnight shooting has two person shot with one of the victims suffering fatally in Paterson.
Reports of shots fired rang out in the area of Summer Street and Pearl Street shortly before midnight according to authorities.
Police arriving to the scene found an unconscious and unresponsive male shot at that location.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital where he died a short time later.
A second victim was found shot in the arm on Ellison Street but his injuries were reported as non-life threatening according to police.
Police setup a crime scene where they searched for evidence and possible suspects.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests made.
