Authorities from the Nj State Police are investigating a shooting that sent two individuals to the hospital earlier this evening.
The incident occurred at the Thomas Edison Service Area before 7 p.m. sending police and EMS to the scene where officers found two victims struck by gunfire.
Details are insufficient, but State Police officials issued this statement at around 8:15 p.m. :
"Troopers and detectives from Troop "D" Cranbury Station are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred earlier this evening".
"There are two victims confirmed injured. This incident is under investigation, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available".
The extent of the victim's injuries have not been confirmed at this time.
