Police are on the scene of a shooting with a male down in a section of Newark's South Ward at this time.
According to police, at approximately 2:50 p.m., gunfire rang out in the vicinity of South 15th Street and Madison Avenue.
Police officers arrived at the scene found a male suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital in stable condition.
While police operated at the scene, officials at University Hospital notified authorities that a male victim entered the emergency room suffering a bullet wound in his chest.
Police secured the vehicle that dropped the victim off at the hospital.
The suspect left the scene and is at-large.
