Burlington County authorities are on the scene searching a building in Mount Laurel after two people were found in a doctor’s office suffering bullet wounds Friday afternoon.
Police are calling this an active shooting scene and have not released much information at this time.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police rushed to 15000 Midatlantic Drive after receiving reports of at least two people inside a Urology Office suffering bullet wounds.
Police have not confirmed if the shooting took place inside the office or if the victims ran into the building after the gunman shot them outside.
Officers are searching the building for suspects but there are no reports of arrests at this time.
Police say one of the victims was shot in the chest while the other suffered a gunshot wound in the leg.
One person was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
UPDATE BCPO: 1:25 pm: ”The Mount Laurel Police Department responded to an office in the 15000 block of Midlantic Drive just before 1 p.m. today on a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, the suspect peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody. Preliminary reports indicate two people were shot, and have been transported for treatment.
We do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time. More information will be released later today”.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
