New Jersey State Police are investigating a police-involved shooting that left one person in life-threatening condition Sunday afternoon following a pursuit that ended on Interstate 280 in Orange.
According to preliminary information, a multi-agency chase involving several local police departments culminated near Exit 11 on I-280 around 2:10 pm, where suspects reportedly fled from an Acura.
During the foot pursuit that followed, State Police Officers discharged their weapons, striking one of the suspects in the head.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect was armed or if gunfire was exchanged but video obtained by RLS Media had as many as two dozen round of gunfire rangout and the suspect, who attempted to flee, fall to the ground.
Two additional suspects were apprehended nearby and are now in the custody of New Jersey State Police.
As of this time, the section of I-280 near Exit 11 remains closed while investigators process the scene and collect evidence.
This incident remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
