There is an active investigation and a crime scene established while police canvas the area around a NJ police station for potential shooting victims at this time.

It happened just across the street from the Linden Police Station located in the 300 block of North Wood Avenue  around 5 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, police inside the station heard a single shot outside the building and hurried outside to investigate.

One shell casing was recovered and police say a light-colored car, occupied by several suspects, sped away from the scene.

The target of the shooting is unknown and no injuries were reported.
