DEVELOPING NEWARK: Teen Shot in Newark’s South Ward

Police are reporting non-life threatening injuries for a child Struck by bullets this evening in Newark’s South Ward at this time.

According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired in the 90’s block of Goodwin Avenue just before 7:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, units found a boy -around the age of 15- suffering bullet wounds in his leg and hand according to police.

The unidentified boy was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation and in its early stages.

No arrests have been made.
