There is an active crime scene inside a park in Newark’s upper West Ward as police investigate a shooting with an injured person at this time.
According to police, the victim was found on the South Orange side of the border after a suspect pulled a gun and fired at him inside the Ivy Hill Park just before 6:30 p.m.
Police say the victim was rushed to University Hospital in an unknown condition.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of the shooting.
Police say the suspect fled the scene and remain at-large.
