A man found shot multiple times in Newark’s North Ward this evening is at a city hospital suffering injuries.
According to police, at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 30’s block of Carteret Street.
When police arrived, they found a severely injured male suffering bullet wounds in his leg and abdomen. Police officers provided care for the victim's injuries before EMS arrived and took over.
Police say the victim was rushed to University Hospital, where doctors listed him in serious but stable condition.
A brown Honda accord, occupied by suspects, pulled up to the scene and began to fire shots in the direction of the victim.
No arrests have been reported at this time.
