We are receiving reports of non-life threatening injuries for a male who was shot at a location in the city's South Ward this afternoon.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 122 Sheperd Avenue at approximately noon, where several police units arrived to find a male struck by a bullet at that location.
Police say the male was transported to University Hospital suffering a gunshot wound in his hand.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
UPDATE: The victim struck by gunfire is a male and is considered non life threatening.
