There are injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred in Newark's South Ward a short time ago.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Osborne Terrace and Hawthorne Avenue at around 12:15 p.m.
First arriving police officers requested EMS after they found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital for treatment at this time.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Avoid the area.
