A vehicle that arrived at University Hospital riddled with bullet holes has police looking into a shooting that occurred in the city's West Ward at this time.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting is under investigation, but according to preliminary reports, officials at University Hospital contacted police when an unidentified person entered the emergency department suffering a gunshot wound to the face just before 12:55 p.m.
Doctors immediately began treating the victim while police searched in the area of South Orange Avenue and South 18th Street for evidence.
Police are also searching the area of South 19th Street and 13th Avenue after residents called 911 after hearing multiple shots fired. The two shooting scenes appear related but no evidence found at this time.
The condition of the victim was only reported as serious.
There were no arrests reported.
