There are non-life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred in Newark's West Ward a short time ago.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out shortly before 4:45 p.m. where officers arrived at the scene to find a male victim suffering a gunshot wound at that location. EMS are en route to the scene.
Expect some traffic delays and a possible detour in both directions on South Orange Avenue.
Avoid the area for the investigation.
There are also reports of shots fired in the area of South Orange Avenue and Monticello with no injuries reported at this time.
