Police have a crime scene established in a Newark South Ward neighborhood as detectives investigate a shooting with a man injured at that location.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to shots fired that rang out in the 300 block of Osborne Terrace at approximately 10:30 a.m. where officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim shot in the back.
Police also found a car occupied by an elderly woman struck by gunfire. Police say the woman was checked at the scene for injuries but did not suffer any gunshot wounds.
EMS rushed the unidentified victim to University Hospital where doctors began to treat his injuries.
Police are looking for an older model burgundy Accura TL with tinted windows that fled the scene occupied by four suspects immediately after the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
