There is a crime scene established in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue as police are on the scene of a shooting with a male victim down at this time.
Gunfire rang out at around 7:10 p.m. in the North Ward community that already had heavy police activity from a police involved shooting that happened earlier this afternoon.
Officers who were investigating the earlier shooting were shifted to the 3rd Avenue neighborhood where they canvassed and found the victim seriously injured.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital while officers searched for a suspect at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was walking into a house when a gunman blasted several rounds in his direction before running from the scene.
The motive is under investigation.
