There are non-life threatening injuries reported for two people shot in the city's South Ward a short time ago.
Gunfire rang out in the 500 block of Bergen Street at Avon Avenue after 8:05 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found the victims suffering gunshot wounds to the leg and arm.
EMS rushed the victims to University Hospital where they are expected to be ok.
According to preliminary reports, a dark colored Jeep occupied by two black males was observed speeding away from the scene northbound on Bergen Street.
A search of the area had officers locating a vehicle struck by gunfire.
Police have Bergen Street from Avon Avenue to Madison Avenue closed to traffic.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
