There are non-life threatening injuries reported for a female victim shot in Newark’s South Ward this evening.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 19 Stratford Place at around 6:46 p.m. sending police to the scene where officers found the victim struck by a bullet to the arm.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
This is the second shooting on Stratford Place since March 29, 2019.
