If you are in the 100 block of Smith Street, that crime scene established by Newark Police is for an investigation in an incident of shots fired that occurred a short time ago.
Police arrived in the area at around 3:36 p.m. after a gunman fired nearly a dozen rounds in the area then fled the scene according to preliminary reports.
We are not receiving reports of injuries or property damage at this time.
