Police are on the scene of shots fired with a man down in the city at this time.
Reports of shots fired in the 70's block of South 9th Street at around 5:25 p.m. sent cops to the scene where they found a male victim shot multiple times.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
The extent of the victim's injuries are reportedly "life threatening".
Essex County officials have been called to the scene.
