Officials at Newark Beth Israel Hospital contacted police this evening when a male entered the emergency department suffering bullet wounds.
According to police, it happened at approximately 7:05 p.m. where police were told that that victim suffered his injuries in the 300 block of Wainwright Street.
Officers canvassed the area near Chancellor Avenue and found shell casings according to police officers.
The condition of the victim has not been confirmed at this time.
There were no other injuries immediately reported.
