DEVELOPING: Man Shot on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City

Police are reporting injuries for a male found shot at a location in Jersey City a short time ago.

According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Drive near Oak Street at around 7:15 p.m. sending police to the scene to investigate.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.

Police say the victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

According to police, the suspect pulled up in a Ford Fusion occupied by about three suspects then fired in the direction of the victim.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.

There were no other injuries reported.
