Police in Newark's South Ward are on the scene of a shooting with a male injured at this time.
According to police, at around 3:20 p.m., officers responded to shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 272 West Runyon Street.
When units arrived, they found the victim suffering a gunshot injury to his face at that location.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The suspect fled the location and remains at-large.
