Rutgers University Police has a vehicle secured that dropped off a gunshot victim at University Hospital in Newark this afternoon.
Now, police have a crime scene established in the vicinity of 289 South 6th Street, which they believe is where the shooting occurred.
At approximately 2:04 p.m., residents dialed 911 after hearing nearly a dozen rounds fired by shooters in the neighborhood.
Police arrived and found several shell casings, but no victims were found at that location.
The condition of the victim has not been confirmed and the suspects remain at large.
