Authorities are reporting fatal injuries for a person shot in a section of Linden at this time.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 6:20 p.m., gunfire rang out in the 1400 block of Union Street, sending police to the scene to investigate.
Several units arrived and found an unidentified person suffering bullet wounds in the chest.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office have been notified and are responding.
There were no arrests reported at this time.
