Police marked off several shell casings to investigate a shots fired incident that occurred on an East Orange Street this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, officers responded to South Oraton Parkway after they received reports of shots fired before 4:30 p.m.
Units arriving at the scene found about a half dozen shell casings at that location, but a search for the area did not have any injured victims.
East Orange police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
City officials did not return requests for public information regarding to incident.
