Police in East Orange are on the scene of a shooting with at least one person struck by bullets at this time in the city.
Officer raced to the scene of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 69 Evergreen Place just before 2:45 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene to find a male victim suffering gunshot wounds according to authorities.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark in an unknown condition.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
