Police are on the scene of a shooting with a male injured in an East Orange neighborhood at this time.
Details are continuing to develop but according to preliminary reports, at approximately 4:34 p.m. police responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Beech Street where they arrived to find a male victim shot at that location.
Two suspects reportedly opened fire in the direction of the victim then sped away in a vehicle.
Sherriff Officers reportedly caught up with the suspect and began to chase the vehicle into Newark where the driver crashed into in the vicinity of North 14th Street and 7th Avenue.
Police detained two suspects at the scene and reportedly found a weapon during a search.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been alerted and requested to assist in the investigation.
